Trip Report: (By Geoff Hardy)

The weather was perfect for our second shot at Mt Carnarvon and the route was snow-free all the way up. The route has plenty of options – it is easy to the ridge and then you can take your pick of either moderate or difficult sections to reach the summit. As expected, the view from the summit was fantastic. We sampled a couple of options to get back down from the ridge to the lake, with the descent on firm scree being the faster than slipping down the vegetation. Afterwards, a dip in Emerald Lake was a refreshing way wash off the stink.
