Trip Report:

The majority of the Mount Townsend trip could be rated easy/moderate. We took a few route options to make the ascent more interesting along the way. Going up the slabs to Townsend summit would be rated difficult, they are solid but steep and a fall would be high consequence. On the way down from the summit we stayed closer to the edge of the cliff band which was more moderate and would be a safer option for ascent. Going up Epic Tower was mostly moderate but the descent from Epic to the creek took us through some more difficult, steep slabby parts. To avoid this another descent option would be to backtrack and go back down the ascent route which would likely be quicker.
