Trip Dates: Multiple
Trip Time: 2 hours
Elevation Gain: 926m
Difficulty: Climbers scramble
Watch this begins at the O’shannessey Falls wishing well on the East side of Highway 40. Follow the steps on the right to the trail that leads up to the summit.
This route follows Andrew Nugara’s route from his book More Scrambles In The Canadian Rockies up the ‘exciting’ west ridge to the west to the summit (he gave it the most difficult rating in the book; climbers scramble and for good reason). At the West summit Watch This heads due west across the saddle and up to the South summit where it heads north along the summit ridge to the top of a perfect scree run that ends up as a trail taking you back to the Mount Baldy parking area in the ditch.
*Note: It works well to park at the regular Mount Baldy spot and jog the .5km down highway 40 to O’shannessey falls.
